Summer's Over

One of the sure marks that school is over is that the yellow school buses begin coming through our neighborhoods, and children are no longer playing on the streets during the day. So, now that school is back in session for the children, it's time to catch up on some of the things we let slip during the summer. Time to reorganize and clean out our houses again. Time to start storing away those summer pool toys. And time to dust off the Bible and head back to school ourselves.

That's right. While we never stop learning, sometimes we put Bible Study on hold while we go on vacations and spend more time with our families while we can. But even if it's just 15 minutes a day, we should put aside some time everyday to read our Bibles and to pray. What better way to start your day than by remembering God's goodness and mercy for another day? Sometimes, we jump out of bed, turn on the computer and God becomes a fleeting thought while we check our Facebook status, update our Twitter, and read our email. More and more we are faced with the challenges of "making time" for God.

Reserve some of the time that God has graciously given you each day to tell God how grateful you are for your life, your family and your health. Remember that you are blessed. Be a good steward of the time that you have.

See you Sunday.
